Yahoo Oauth Looks Like Something Went Wrong Please Try Again Later

I am getting the following error message "Sending of password for user [e-mail]@att.cyberspace did not succeed. Mail server pop.att.yahoo.com responded: Server error - Delight effort once again afterward."

Hello!

I have been using Thunderbird every bit my desktop e-mail client for years. Near a week agone, I started getting this email error bulletin:

"Sending of countersign for user [e-mail]@att.net did not succeed. Mail server popular.att.yahoo.com responded: Server error - Please try over again subsequently."

When I searched the community database, it suggested that I had to comply with the oauth code ATT started using a while back. Well, I did that when the issue first arose several years agone and accept never had any issues. Until now.

I did nothing with Thunderbird or any of my email accounts that might take caused the error bulletin to of a sudden appear. Information technology's possible that there was an auto-update that may have done something. The other 6 e-mail accounts that I have linked to my Thunderbird account all still piece of work (but they are not @att.net domain emails). It'southward merely the "[email]@att.cyberspace" address that gets the fault message. The e-mail account however works as I can access it via webmail.

Any assistance y'all could provide would be greatly appreciated.

If yous are using ESET/NOD32 security/AV then probability is very loftier it is causing your problems. Using a browser, such as a current version of Firefox, login to your yahoo email account. On your Account page, locate Account Security, and Manage Your Passwords (note: Yahoo changes terminology, and so you have to become the gist of this)

Create a NEW Countersign, the encrypted kind, by providing some Token similar THUNDERBIRD or TBird.

Yahoo volition grind this upwards and brand you a new key, and and then provide that dorsum to you in its new, regenerated, form.

Copy this new primal and save information technology some "safety identify", like in the cupboard under the old shoes, and in a file and on the clipboard.

That called solution did not work for me. Although the server said entering.att.net in my error message. Information technology was working fine until today. I had to go to Edit, Business relationship settings, on the att e-mail accost, the server settings, change the server name to pop.mail service.yahoo.com. modify the authentification method to Oauth2 in the drib downwardly menu. Restart thunderbird. The 1st time it comes up with a browser box to logon to Yahoo. You have to have your email accost and password to enter information technology manually, by clipboard if you want. And then afterward that it will merely download the email. Att electronic mail is run through a yahoo login. I stopped my att internet, but I nevertheless use the same email address. I don't e'er use thunderbird to send email through att anymore, so I don't use the att outbound server on thunderbird. I have MX linux nineteen.3, Thunderbird 68.12.0 (64-bit)

In my version of Thunderbird, they put all the outgoing server addresses in ane section at the end on the finish of the left side of the settings window. on that effort putting smtp.mail.yahoo.com in the same place outbound att. If you're connecting to Yahoo servers, cheque that the outgoing server is smtp.mail.yahoo.com on 465, SSL/TLS, Oauth2 hallmark, User Name = email address. Disable any antivirus scanning of outgoing mail service.
